ACPL partners with IMG
Agatha Christie Limited’s TV production arm, Agatha Christie Productions (ACPL), has appointed IMG as its international sales partner for its upcoming slate of seven new Christie dramas. This follows the news last year that ACPL cemented a unique production deal with BBC One reuniting them with leading indie Mammoth Screen to deliver the seven Christie adaptations. Filming will begin on the first of these adaptations, Ordeal by Innocence in Summer 2017.
Following the critical success of And Then There Were None (BBC One) in December 2015 and The Witness for the Prosecution (BBC One) in December 2016, Agatha Christie Productions and Mammoth Screen will be working once again with Sarah Phelps as she continues her fresh take on Christie by adapting Ordeal by Innocence, one of Agatha's own personal favourite novels.
“We are thrilled to represent this important franchise and to bring Christie’s classic mysteries to a new generation,” said IMG head of entertainment sales and partnerships, Gary Marenzi.
Agatha Christie Productions’ Chairman, James Prichard, adds: “Agatha Christie’s characters and stories are enjoyed by millions of fans around the world. I’m excited to see my great grandmother’s work continue to come to life on screen through these modern adaptations. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with WME and IMG as we bring these new productions to audiences worldwide.”
IMG handled sales on BBC-AMC’s Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series The Night Manager and BBC America’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. Both shows were sold by IMG into over 180 territories globally.
